Described as the only links course in Spain and the most southerly in Europe. Maybe not a true links course but never the less well worth playing for its magnificent views. If you are looking for a golf course with beautiful views, there cannot be a more spectacular one than Alcaidesa, the western most golf course on the Costa del Sol. Alcaidesa offers views of the Mediterranean, the rock of Gibraltar and Morocco´s Atlas Mountains (sometimes all at the same time!). The hilly par 71 course (5766 metres) snakes along the Mediterranean, and has four beachside holes (the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 13th.). The greens are in immaculate shape and the fairways are also in good shape. A lot of work and improvements have made Alcaidesa suitable, though challenging, for all handicap levels. The par 4, 18th hole offers views of Gibraltar and leads back to the clubhouse, where there is a bar-restaurant with out-door patio overlooking the mediterranean.

If the weather is calm the course can be quite tame however when it blows it begins to show its teeth like all good links golf, requires all types of shot making and patience. Good test for all levels and is very walk-able. Well worth a visit and a must for golfing parties, the green fee is always very reasonable, the clubhouse food a pleasure and a very friendly atmosphere all round. Membership is available. A good imagination and a slice of luck required to crack this one!!!

A good selection of property surrounds the existing course and area in general with another course currently being built. Two 5 star hotels, new clubhouse with gym and spa plus commercial area to come.
