 With over 1,000 holes to choose from, we initially narrowed things down by asking the relevant directors of the clubs to nominate their three favourite holes from which our panelists could select. Only one hole from each course was allowed to be selected for the Dream 18, and each hole must remain in its original location on the course. The result is a demanding test of golf, and taking into consideration the limitations we put on the entrants, a superb reflection of the best that Southern Spain has to offer.

 Peter Cowen is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading golf coaches. He is recognised for teaching many great tour players. His straightforward approach is based on recognising that players need consistency which is best achieved through the philosophy of simplifying the fundamentals of the golf swing.  Ewen Murray has earned a deserved reputation as a fine TV commentator, but what is sometimes forgotten is that prior to picking up a microphone, he was also a golfer of considerable repute. As a professional he won twice in Africa at the 1980 Zambia Open and the 1984 Nigeria Open. We set out to obtain his views on golf today.

 In 1930 the British Open, British Amateur, US Open and US Amateur were the most significant tournaments of the time, they were known as the major championships. As golf has evolved and grown in popularity the Grand Slam now comprises The Masters held in April, the U.S. Open in June, The Open in July and the PGA Championship in August, and these are now considered to attract the best international players of the modern game.

 Belen Mozo from Spain captured both the Ladies’ British Amateur title and the Girls’ British Open Amateur Championship in 2006, a first since Mickey Walker completed the same double in 1972. eat GOLF! caught up with the 18 year old, who has a handicap of plus four, after a round with the Peak Performance staff at the exclusive La Reserva Golf Club in Sotogrande.
